Kashmir solidarity observed throughout Pakistan and Kashmir with determination to continue political and diplomatic struggle for right to self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of United Nations Security Council, reported Associated Press Pakistan (APP), Pakistan’s official news agency.
The day was observed as public holiday in Pakistan administered Kashmir and public rallies, seminars and other functions were organized by different political parties to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir besides making human chains at Kohala, Brar Kot, Mangla ant other entries to Azad Kashmir to express gesture of solidarity.
One minute silence was observed in the morning to pay tribute to martyrs of Kashmir and special prayers were held at mosques for eternal peace of their souls and the success of liberation movement.
The main event of the day was special joint session of the Kashmir Council and AJK legislative Assembly which was addressed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to express solidarity with Kashmiri people on behalf of the people of Pakistan.
Chairman Kashmir committee of Pakistan’s Parliament, Maulana Fazal-ul-Rehman also visited Muzaffarabad and addressed various public gatherings including a seminar organized by Jamat-e-Islami (JI) to express solidarity with people.
JI chief Saraj-ul-Haq also joined the occasion of making symbolic human chain at Kohala bridge, linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir where, hundreds of people from both sides made human chain by giving hands to hands to express solidarity.
Rallies and Public meetings were also organized in other districts and towns of Azad Kashmir like Mirpur, Kotli, Rawalakot, Bagh, Haveeli, Palandri, and Neelum Valley where, the participants renewed their resolve to continue their struggle for right to self determination.
