Police in Muzaffarabad—the capital city of Pakistan administrated Kashmir (PaK)—has detained a group of five youngsters and hunting for another, accused to rape and attempt to murder a teen, said an official here on Monday.
“18-year-old survivor was kidnapped three days ago, when she was coming back to home from a local boutique—where she works,” said Station House Officer (SHO) City Police Station Pervez Hameed.
Hameed further told that after subjecting her to gang-rape, the attackers then poisoned and left the girl in weeds, supposing her dead.
The girl somehow managed to survive and residents discovered her in an unconscious state.
Her parents then brought the survivor to Combined Military Hospital Muzaffarabad where she spent three day in coma.
“After the girl described the incident, we took action and arrested five suspects,” Hameed said.
According to police, the survivor has five sisters, and no brothers and she helps her parents earning bread.
Cases were registered against suspects arrested by city police on the charge of rape, attempted murder and poisoning. The men were remanded into police custody until March 23.
